I Don't Wanna Be

I don't need to be anything other than an income-tax-man's daughter..
I don't need to be anything other than an accountant's daughter
I don't have to be anyone other than a birth of two souls in one
Part of where I'm going is knowing where I'm coming from

I don't want to be anything other than what I've been tryin to be lately
All I have to do is think of me and have peace of mind
I'm tired of looking around rooms wonder what I gotta do
Or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything other than me

I'm surrounded by liars everywhere I turn
I'm surrounded by impostors everywhere I turn
I'm surrounded by identity crisis everywhere I turn
I'm the only one who's noticed
I can't be the only one who's learned

Can I have everyone's attention please
if you're not like this and that
You're gonna have to leave
I came from the mountains
the crust of creation
My whole situation made from clay dust stone
and now I'm telling everybody

I don't want to be anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
All I have to do is think of me and have peace of mind
I'm tired of looking 'round rooms wonder what I gotta to do
Or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything other than me
I don't wanna be...
I don't wanna be...
I don't wanna be anything...
ANYTHING OTHER THAN ME...
I don't wanna be...
I dont't wanna be...
I don't wanna be ...

adapted from a song by Gavin Degraw, I Don't Wanna Be..

E.E. Cummings once wrote, 'To be nobody-but-yourself, in a world which is doing its best, night and day to make you everybody else... means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight... and never stop fighting.'  (Lucas Scott, One Tree Hill S1 E3)

to a heart:
don't be full with colours of yours until they blind you the shine from others colour =)

Narrated Abu Huraira, Prophet (peace be upon him) said:"Religion is very easy, and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremist, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshiping in the mornings, the nights." (Al-Bukhari)
