If We Hold On Together

Salam n Peace to all~~

Don't lose your way with each passing day.

You've come so far, don't throw it away.

Live believing - dreams are for weaving,
Wonders are waiting to start.

Live your story - Faith, Hope and Glory

Hold to the truth in your heart.

If we hold on together,

I know our dreams will never die.

Dreams see us through to forever

Where clouds roll by,

For you and I.

Souls in the wind must learn how to bend,

Seek out a star, hold on to the end.
Valley mountain, there is a fountain
Washes our tears all away.

Worlds are swaying - someone is praying,

Please let us come home to stay

If we hold on together,

I know our dreams will never die.

Dreams see us through to forever

Where clouds roll by,

For you and I.

When we are out there in the dark,
We'll dream about the sun.

In the dark we'll feel the light,
Warm our hearts, every one.

If we hold on together,

I know our dreams will never die.

Dreams see us through to forever
As high as souls can fly,

The clouds roll by, for
You and I.

my fav line is the bold part..the meaning is like u need to have high self-esteem to prevent urself from being easily manipulate by others..that's why learning process is very important to construct our attitude for a better future..it's not only in the class which just follow the syllabus n experience nothing..but,the learning process throughout our lives for the success herein n hereafter..Insya Allah~

learning n cognition are not an easy process, emphasis on active rather than passive learning..has influence of nature in addition to nurture..learning as defined by Eysenck is the process by which experience results in a relatively permanent change in behavior or in potential behavior..

The basic form of learning: Classical Conditioning
stimuli in the environment can trigger an automatic behavioural response..the new stimulus-response relationship is learned by association with the naturally occuring stimulus-response relationship..i give u an example:
"one day,u accidentally opened my blog..then, u read a touching story in my entry which made u cry while this oldies song played softly in the background..now,whenever u hear the song, u feel sad n almost cry"
unconditioned stimulus(UCS) - the touching story
unconditioned response(UCR) - u'r crying
conditioned stimulus(CS) - the background song
conditioned responses(CR) - feeling sad n almost cry
the conditioning reveals how organisms learn to mentally represent aspects of their world

2nd form of learning: Operant Conditioning
suggested by a behaviourist,BF Skinner explained that we behave the way we do because of the consequences our past behaviour has generated, to gain reward or avoid punishment..reinforcement (+ve & -ve) increase the likelihood of the action being repeated..
ex:u study hard for xm not only to get H1 (+ve), but also to avoid u repeat paper for the next sem (-ve)..
punishment is the use of aversive consequences to reduce undesirable behaviour..however,it only suppresses the behaviour, rarely works for long-term behaviour change..also,it produces -ve feelings which do not promote new learning..alternatives to punishment, reinforce both of desirable behaviour n non-occurrence undesirable behaviour..

3rd form of learning: Observational Learning

indirectly human learning through observing others by active judgment n constructive process, not just mechanical imitation..it also has vicarious reinforcement n vicarious punishment..for example:
"u observing ur friends enjoying blogging experiences vicarious reinforcement for blogging"
however,it needs to undergoes 4 processes according to Albert Bandura=>
1)Attention - must attend to the other persons behaviour
2)Memory - must remember what they did
3)Motor skills - transform the memory into actions
4)Motivation - more likely to imitate a behaviour if will result in a reward

ok,i don't mind if u guys not understand at all what i'm trying to explain..but for me,it's very important..as they'r part of examinable questions for my psychology xm 2moro..need to memorize many things including behavioural neuroscience, sensation&perception, memory, language n quantitative method..one thing dat realize, the more u learn something the more u dunno many things..seeking knowledge is never stop..until the end of ur life..

Rasulullah s.a.w once said that "tuntutlah ilmu walaupun hingga ke liang lahad"

*when u'r WHITE, will u see WHITE in others BLACK?
n when u'r BLACK, will u still see WHITE in others BLACK?
that's a qualia problem....

wallahualam~

bout the part of the song that u like, its correspond closely to what rasulullah said:

'The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities, but remains patient will Allah remove his difficulties. But the example of a disbeliever is like that of a pine tree which keeps hard and straight will Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes'
(al-bukhari)
